I decided to give myself a resolution this year, which is to blog more often. So I’ve opted to up the Julie and Julia challenge a notch. I am going to cook every single one of Julia Child‘s 524 recipe from her cookbook “The Art of Cooking,” every single day this year and write about it. 191,260 meals in 365 days. Easy, Breezy.

So tonight I am going to be typing to you about the Tuna Nicoise, Pissaladière, Poulet au Porto, Beef Bourguignon, Coq au Vin, Roast Duck with Orange Sauce, Ratatoullie, Daube de Boeuf Provencal, Macédoine of fruits in Champagne, Boiled leg of lamb with caper sauce, and Rabbit stew that I prepared this afternoon (after I put the children down for their naps of course)

Of all the crazy things that happened while embarking on this crazy food writing pilgrimage the craziest would be how I browned the butter for the seared lamb too long and it set off the smoke detector. Or how when preparing the rabbit for the stew I didn’t strike its neck hard enough with the cleaver and it ran around the kitchen hemorrhaging blood everywhere from its gaping throat wound causing me to slip and fall while accidentally shoving a fork into the toaster blowing all the circuits in the house. Good times.

Bon Appetit

No, but seriously, I am going to try to blog once a week. Because I know that the seven people who read the Blogs last year gleaned so much knowledge and inspiration from them, especially the 17-year-late review of Titanic. Some of these blogs I forewarn will probably be phoned-in terrible pieces of garbage, and the others will probably be worse. But you know what, I’m gonna do em’ anyways, because we are the Pershing Empire and this our Town.
